Over the last year, I have had the great fortune of meeting with and speaking to many of Salisbury's residents and business people. I have learned so much from so many you; it's impossible to list all that I have learned.  I know many of you working tirelessly for Salisbury's future, behind the scenes, wish to remain unnamed. I want to thank each of you for continuing to make Salisbury a greater city for all of us. I also thank each and every one of you for taking the time to teach me about our city.

Senator Carl Ford & Mrs. Angela Ford

NC State Senate

Over the last fifteen years, Senator Ford has served in what seems like every level of state government. Carl and his wife Angela have always been welcoming to my son and me.  He is an exceedingly smart and effective legislator. He understands and knows exactly what he is talking about and how things work in in Raleigh.  We are lucky to have Carl Ford working for us as our Senator in Raleigh.

Angela is one the kindest and sweetest of people,  - always responsive, welcoming and ready to help.

Thank you Carl and Angela.

Rep. Harry Warren

NC House of Represenatives

Have a conversation with Rep. Harry Warren and the first thing that strikes you is his clear and cogent thought process, his great listening skills and his  kind demeanor.

Visit Harry in his office and sit with him at his clean, uncluttered desk, which is an extension of his ideas and acumen.  I have learned so much from Harry's style of translation of private sector management principles into the arena of public sector legislative functions. Thank you Harry.

Rev. Mark Conforti

Senior Pastor - First United Methodist Church, Salisbury

One of my spiritual guides and a motivating force to so many in our community, Rev. Conforti always imparts kindness and compassion to all he meets. He is a great story teller and jokester, bringing the love of Christ into people's lives.  He is living proof that God can work through our brokenness - our physical and spiritual battles - to emerge as witnesses to Christ's power.  Thank you Rev. Conforti for all you have taught and continue to teach me.

Father John Eckert

Senior Priest - Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Salisbury

A  shepherd to his flock of 4,000 parishioners at Sacred Heart Catholic Chuch, Father John is a true servant of Christ.  Always a beacon of hope, he is a highly educated priest and has sacrificed much to be a follower of Christ.  I have learned about sacrifice, honor and integrity through my monthly meetings with him.  Thank you Father John.

Samuel J. Tuluri, Commander/Medical Corp/US Navy (retired) and Suzanne S. Tuluri, Captain/Medical Corp/US Navy (retired)

Retired U.S. Navy Pediatricians and close friends - "Sue and Sam"

Sue and Sam have been dear friends for years. Generous, kind, loving and just all around wonderful people.  Long time residents of Salisbury, they have always been there to help me and my family at the drop of a hat.  Anytime we have had a medical worry about our son, Sue and Sam have come to the rescue.  Devout Catholics, they truly "practice what they preach" by sacrificing their time and energy for all that they come into contact with. Thank you Sue and Sam for all you do for Rohan, Jude and me.

Jason Walser

Jason is Executive Director of the Robertson Family Foundation in Salisbury. Besides being a person who has nothing other than the well-being of all people at heart, he is also hugely knowledgeable about a myriad of topics.  If I can't find an Encyclopedia Britannica close by to refer to for an answer to a question, all I have to do is call Jason and ask him!  A kinder and gentler person one would be hard pressed to find - a true Southern Gentleman. I consider myself privileged and honored to be able to be one of his friends. Thank you Jason.
